How a spark ignited in Australia led a burning passion for specialty coffee from a small garage over a coffee truck to hotspots all over Zurich – above and beyond.
miró manufactura de café is a boutique roastery and café born and based in the heart of Zurich.
Founded in 2013 by the brothers Dani and David Sanchez – after Dani got hooked by specialty coffee in Australia – it all started with a 5kg Probat roaster in a small disused garage in the suburbs.
Besides their «first child» which has taken the shape of a coffee truck, they started a café and moved it over the years from Bederstrasse 85 to Butzenstrasse 60 to Brauerstrasse 58, where the café was last relocated to in 2018.
Nowadays miró includes its flagship café and roastery miró Brauer, two shops at Zurich Hauptbahnhof – miró Passage Bahnhofstrasse and miró Passage Sihlquai – and the miró truck with its different locations at Brücke Mühlesteg and Hönggerberg.

From day one, miró manufactura de café has uniquely sourced and roasted specialty coffee. Most of their carefully chosen beans from all over the world – with the utmost focus on a sustainable production chain – are fair trade and organic, some even certified or direct trade. They serve only seasonal coffee of the highest quality that is freshly roasted every week.
miró imports extraordinary green coffee and strives to serve an
outstanding cup of coffee. Besides improving the living conditions of its coffee producers, miró always bears in mind that true change happens in small steps.
Dani and David are passionate about what they do and have an eye for details. They believe that relationships should be built on the foundations of integrity and respect and strive for excellence and sustainability in everything they do. They try their best to question and reflect towards more long-term viability in every decision they make.
Small steps – when accumulated – can make a big impact. In their roles as specialty coffee ambassadors, they are filled with pride – alongside a great team supporting them and extremely appreciative, valuable guests without whom none of this would be possible.
