Bellavista in the Espresso Subscription

So excellent that we roasted the bean for filter and espresso.

This exceptional young Geisha is elegant and expressive, opening with delicate jasmine florals and bright bergamot on the nose. The cup unfolds into juicy notes of tangerine, ripe peach, cherry and passion fruit, supported by a silky, tea-like body. Lively citrus acidity carries through to a clean, honey-sweet finish. Vibrant and luminous across all brewing methods.

About the producers

In the central Colombian mountains, Gabriel and Flor Mendoza started with coffee cultivation 35 years ago. Some time before that, it all began with the idea of producing high-quality, ecologically sustainable coffee and they created their own brand of coffee: «Alma de Pasión», dedicated to the soul of Flor’s mother Pasión, the inspiration for this project.

Gabriel and Flor are in charge of coordinating their own coffee from ripe cherry harvesting to the proper process of fermentation, drying, and packaging. With the help of the effort of local families, they hand-pick their coffee beans. Now the younger generation is ready to take the family business to another level: Mendoza’s daughter (Yuly Mendoza) and her husband (Andres Pineda) have been importing the coffee to Switzerland themselves since 2021 and can therefore offer better prices and support in the region of origin.

Their philosophy is to bring their coffee directly to Switzerland and to assure transparency,  traceability, and high quality (their farms have international certificates such as Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance and UTZ), which allows them to ensure the best quality for export, and at the same time create fair and sustainable partnerships.

The coffee is the product of the effort and dedication of the entire Mendoza family — containing not only a lot of work, but their hearts and souls.

About the origin

Líbano-Tolima, nestled in Colombia’s central mountains at elevations between 1,675 and 1,900 meters above sea level, offers ideal growing conditions for exceptional green coffee. Volcanic soils enriched by the nearby Nevado del Ruiz, native shade trees, rich biodiversity and distinct microclimates contribute to the complex, vibrant cup profiles. These unique terroir characteristics make their green coffee a standout choice for discerning roasters seeking quality, consistency, and traceability.
