X-Mas Edition Takeover!

Throughout December, this coffee comes with one of our X-Mas stickers: Bean thinking about you. Love you Babe. Words cannot Espresso what you mean to me. I like you a Latte. Miss you. Wanna get a coffee sometime? Merry X-Mas. Jingle all the way.  We’ll pick one for you based on availability. If you tell us your favourite at checkout, we’ll try our best to make it happen – no promises, but lots of love.

Experience the true essence of Ethiopian coffee in this outstanding cup. This refined washed coffee opens with a bright, citrus-like acidity that gently gives way to a lingering sweetness reminiscent of berry marmalade. Its velvety mouthfeel carries through to a smooth finish, where subtle notes of Assam tea and a delicate hint of lavender complete the harmony.

X-Mas Edition – Banko Gotiti

About the farm

Banko Gotiti resort is nestled in the Ethiopian mountains. The Gotiti station, established in 2010, has a unique terroir shaped by the surrounding peaks of Qunashu, Dula Mezorya, Asgori Gara, and Baya. The station processes coffee from the 400 growers it works with, using fresh water from the nearby Qunashu River.

The Yirgacheffe appelation covers a limited area. It is characterised by low production volumes but high perceived quality. Yirgacheffe is the name of a town with a population of several tens of thousands. The production areas are Yirgacheffe, Kochéré, Wenago and Gelena Abaya.

About the process

After harvesting, the cherries are sorted and then washed, before fermenting in tanks for 48 to 72 hours. 8 employees of the station are then responsible for washing the cherries with the utmost care.

After washing, the coffee beans are dried for between 7 and 10 days, depending on the weather, on raised beds, with the humidity of the beans monitored throughout the drying process.
